When a model opens
Show rooms and spaces
Rooms and spaces are see-through boxes that can hide the walls behind them, so they start hidden. The Spaces button still turns them on and off for the open model.
Edges on
Small models only
Edges off
Edge lines give the drafting look but cost memory. "Small models only" draws them for models under 300,000 triangles. Above 1.5 million triangles they are always off.
Check against IDS
Keep the IDS inside the IFC
Off: the IFC keeps only a reference and the IDS stays in this browser (a client's IDS may be confidential). On: the IDS travels inside the IFC to everyone you send it to.
Drawings open in
3D (fastest)
Model (2D)
3D draws a large drawing much faster. Sheets, Print view and the equipment list stay on the tabs above the drawing. A drawing with nothing in model space, or a browser that can't show 3D, opens in 2D.
Opening view
Fit
Top
Front
Side
The camera a model opens with. Fit looks at the whole model from a corner.
A building turned in its site
Square to the building
As placed in the site
When a building's walls run at an angle to the model's axes (as models on survey or shared coordinates arrive), "Square to the building" shows it square: Fit, Top, Front, Side, the view cube and new sections follow its walls. The compass still points to the model's north.
Placing library items
Start with wall snap on
When placing or pasting starts, the item's back snaps to the nearest wall. Tab or the Wall snap button turns it off for the moment.
Corner indicator
View cube
Axis icon
None
In the corner of the 3D views: a view cube to click a side to look from, an X/Y/Z axis icon, or nothing. The 2D drawing view has none.
Section box
Room round the pick
mm
How much space Section box round the pick leaves on every side of the picked elements.
Location
Latitude and longitude in
WGS 84 (EPSG:4326), as GPS and web maps
The file's own datum
ETRS89 (EPSG:4258)
NAD83 (EPSG:4269)
GDA94 (EPSG:4283)

NZGD2000 (EPSG:4167)
JGD2011 (EPSG:6668)
CGCS2000 (EPSG:4490)
The system Measure › Location gives latitudes and longitudes in. The file's own map system and datum are always shown beside them.

Assistants
Let AI assistants and scripts use BimCraft
An assistant on this computer reaches BimCraft through CadCraft Studio, only while this is on. Off by default; turning it off disconnects at once.
Read: find elements and read their properties
Change the view and draw: isolate, see-through, hide and show elements; add walls, doors, windows, floors, levels and grids (each change one step you can undo)
Save: the model as a new IFC file (the original is never changed)
Export: the model as an OpenUSD file

Layout
Workspace
CadCraft classic A toolbar on top, file and model panels on the left, properties on the right.
Ribbon and project browser Ribbon tabs with Properties and Project Browser palettes and a tab per open view: the layout of the most widely used BIM authoring programs.
Toolbox and info box A tool column on the left and an info box for the active tool across the top: the layout of the long-established architect's BIM programs.
AutoRev (not in BimCraft yet) The arrangement people coming from other BIM programs already know: quick-access bar, flat ribbon panels, options bar, Properties above the Project Browser, view tabs and a view control bar.
Import a layout…
Export this layout
A layout is a .ccworkspace.json file: data only, read as untrusted. It arranges the same building blocks in every app; each app fills them with its own tools. Drop a .ccworkspace.json file here to import it.
Arrange your own layout…
Every app that has the workspace you pick opens in it; the others keep their toolbar and panels. Your toolbar style, menus and keys stay as they are.
Lost a toolbar, a menu or a panel?
Reset the layout
Puts the toolbar (order, lock and buttons), the panels, the screen mode and the menu style back to how BimCraft starts. Your theme, language, sizes and BimCraft's own settings stay as they are.

Units
Global settings: each app can have its own measurement settings and defaults too.
Switch a unit on to see it in the unit lists. The star marks the default for new drawings, measures and items. These choices are the same in every app in this browser.
A file keeps its own unit (a drawing's units, a project's feet or meters), and that unit stays in its list even when it is turned off here.
Hardware specs
Don't share my hardware specs
Sharing your hardware specs allows us to build more efficient engines. The information is aggregated and not associated with your account: the graphics card, processor cores, memory and screen size, the browser and system family, and the app — no files, no name, no address.
First-time tours
Start each app's tour the first time it opens
Off: no app starts its tour by itself. Each app's own settings can still turn its tour off, or take it again.

Original order
Arrange: drag tools within their group, and drag a group by its name.
Lock the toolbar (no arranging)
Right-click the toolbar (or long-press it) for Arrange, Lock and Reset.

Draw and select
Only move the view
With Only move the view, one finger on the drawing does nothing and two fingers move and zoom it. These choices are for this device, in every app. A pen is noticed the first time you use one here.

Compact tightens the row heights, panel padding, toolbar buttons and panel text of BimCraft, so more fits on the screen. A touch screen keeps its large targets either way.

Panel widths apply when the panels sit beside the drawing (wider windows).
Panels
Reset layout
Move panels to a new window
Drag a panel by its name to dock it left, right or at the bottom, or drop it over the drawing to float it. A new window can go on your other screen. Reset layout puts every panel back where it started.

Add-ons
Add-ons add features to BimCraft. Switching one off takes effect at once; some need a reload to go completely.
Developer mode is on: add-ons that are not signed can load. Only use add-ons you trust.
