ModelCraft — 3D modeling

Start modeling

  • R rectangle: click two corners on the ground, or click one and type 4m,3m and Enter.
  • P push/pull: click the face, move up, click — or type a height.
  • L line, C circle, M move (Ctrl copies), T tape measure for guides.
  • G makes the selection a component, Shift+G a group.
  • Middle-drag orbits, Shift+middle-drag or right-drag pans, the wheel zooms. Arrow keys lock red, green and blue.
  • Models open and save on this computer; nothing is uploaded.

ModelCraft settings

These settings are only for ModelCraft, and you can change them only here, in the app.

Controls

Scrolling

Trackpad: swipe with two fingers to orbit, hold Shift and swipe to pan, pinch to zoom — no camera buttons needed. Mouse wheel: the wheel zooms. "Work it out" treats sideways or fine-grained scrolling as a trackpad.

Snapping and solids

Both are also buttons at the bottom right of the view, so you can turn them off for one move and back on.

Theme

The theme applies to every CadCraft app and the site.

Screen

Browsers allow full screen only after a click or key press, so it starts on your first click in the drawing.

Toolbar

Arrange: drag tools within their group, and drag a group by its name.

Panels

You can also drag a panel's inner edge. Double-click the edge to put it back.
