FeatureSTACK-DIR Link to STACK-DIR Stack-ups in more than one direction

Stack-ups run in one direction only (decided for now). Two- and three-direction chains (a stack-up across X and Y, or around an angle) would be a later step.

FeatureLC.2 Link to LC.2 Working together in the cloud

Covers Forma Design Collaboration, BIM Collaborate and Docs. Team projects across every app, versions, comments and BCF issues on any file, a federated team model, notifications. Restarts "Working together, step 2". Discord CSV 2026-10-21: Asked again on Discord (#SolidCraft Oct 17; #technical-development Oct 17): save to Google Drive or other cloud folders, a shared cloud-storage brick for all apps, real-time collaboration across all apps. Cloud folders on B2 are specced (docs/CLOUD-FOLDERS-SPEC.md); synced Drive/OneDrive folders work today through the folder picker.

FeatureLC.15 Link to LC.15 CAM: more machining

Covers Inventor CAM, FeatureCAM, PowerMill and CAMplete. Contour, pocket, drill, 3D finishing, a tool library, material-removal simulation, post-processors; turning and inspection later. Discord CSV 2026-10-21: Asked again on Discord (3 mentions, #SolidCraft Oct 17; #cadcraft Oct 18): integrated toolpaths and post-processor files (.cps) so G-code fits each machine. PartCraft has CAM with Fanuc, GRBL and LinuxCNC posts built in; missing is a post you can edit yourself (Fusion .cps is Autodesk's JS dialect: read the idea, not the files).

DecisionPU-DEFAULTS Link to PU-DEFAULTS PartCraft usability: five defaults chosen for now

Taken by the session under rule 9 until you say otherwise: (1) faint planes cannot be clicked; (2) Dimension as you draw is on for existing users too, because new users cannot be told apart; (3) a typed line angle other than 0, 90, 180 or 270 sets the direction but is not dimensioned; (4) Cut into it starts at half the part’s thickness; (5) there is no drag handle on Through all ends or on values an equation drives. All are in the session log’s For the owner section.

Sanity checkTEXTBOOK-CHECK Link to TEXTBOOK-CHECK Printed stack-up examples to check LC.18 against

No openly available worked textbook example was found (the only copies online were pirated, so none were used). LC.18 is checked against hand-worked examples, every best and worst combination of 20 random chains, and a simulation of 200,000 random assemblies. A few printed examples from a book such as Fischer’s, typed into the test, would close this.

FeaturePANEL-COMPACT Link to PANEL-COMPACT Compact panel layout: stacked, tabbed, dense panels and a property grid

Owner 2026-10-21 (screenshot of a compact docked layout): let panels and tool rows go compact like a classic engineering app. Several panels stacked in one dock (e.g. a tree above Properties), each with a slim title bar (menu, pin/auto-hide, close), tabs inside a panel group, a small icon toolbar per panel, dense rows, and a Properties grid with collapsible categories, label/value columns and inline sliders and checkboxes. A Compact density in Settings > General for every app; the default layout stays as it is. Built in the shell (app-panels.js) so SuperCadCraft SC.2 reuses it.

CadCraftBimCraftModelCraftMarkupCraftTakeoffCraftCivilCraftDetailCraftPartCraft Planned 6 – From: owner (Owner)
FeatureRIBBON-COMPACT Link to RIBBON-COMPACT A denser ribbon layout: big and small buttons, split buttons, inline property lists

Owner 2026-10-21 (screenshot of a drafting ribbon): a ribbon layout in the same spirit, our own design (not a copy). Today the Ribbon menu style draws every button big, one row per group. Add: per group a few large buttons plus the rest stacked three high as small icon + label buttons; split buttons (main action + a small arrow listing its variants, e.g. Line/Polyline, Linear/Aligned dimensions); inline controls where an app has them (CadCraft: current layer list with on/freeze/lock icons, colour / linetype / lineweight By layer lists); group names along the bottom with an arrow opening that group extra tools; works with Compact density (PANEL-COMPACT) and with the toolbar rows setting from CP.1. Data-driven in each app style file (item size, split, control), drawn by the shell app-input-ui.js. Trade dress: our icons, colours and spacing, no copied artwork.

FeatureD7.26 Link to D7.26 STEP import without the exact kernel; STEP in ModelCraft and BimCraft

Asked: STEP (and NC1 steel) support (#cadcraft Oct 20); SolidWorks / Creo / CATIA parts with features (3 mentions, #SolidCraft Oct 18 — STEP named there as the practical bar). Checked 2026-10-21: NC1/DSTV is built (DetailCraft, nc1.js). PartCraft exports a faceted STEP on the mesh kernel, but STEP import (and exact STEP export) needs the OpenCascade kernel, which is off in shipped builds (LGPL) — so a user can't open a STEP today. No STEP in ModelCraft or BimCraft. Native SLDPRT/Creo/CATIA stay out (closed formats); the SolidWorks macro exchange (tools/partcraft-sw) still needs its first run in SolidWorks. Do: a clean-room AP203/214/242 reader for faceted and B-rep bodies (tessellated to the mesh kernel), in PartCraft, ModelCraft and BimCraft. See D7.45 for the kernel.

BimCraftModelCraftPartCraft Candidate 4 – Discord CSV pasted by the owner 2026-10-21
FeatureD7.40 Link to D7.40 PartCraft: solve closed-loop assemblies; big-sketch solver test

Asked: a constraint solver that stays understandable in large assemblies, and many constraints without crashing (2 mentions, #craft-apps Oct 20; #SolidCraft Oct 18). Checked 2026-10-21: sketches have a real solver with redundancy/conflict analysis (solver.js); assemblies are placed by walking a tree from the grounded part, and a joint that closes a loop is only checked, not solved (assembly.js). Nothing tests a large sketch. Do: a loop-closing assembly solver with the same over-/under-defined colours, and a 500-constraint sketch + 50-part assembly stress test with timings.

PartCraft Candidate 3 – Discord CSV pasted by the owner 2026-10-21
SpikeD7.45 Link to D7.45 Spike: an exact (B-rep) kernel with a permissive licence, NVIDIA SMLib first

Asked: use a permissively licensed CAD kernel, NVIDIA's open-sourced SMLib suggested (#craft-apps Oct 18); proprietary kernels called the hard part (Oct 20). Related DC.43. Checked 2026-10-21: PartCraft ships on manifold-3d (mesh); OpenCascade is off in shipped builds (LGPL), which is why STEP import, exact fillets and shells don't work for users (see D7.26). The K.1 spike (tools/partcraft-test/k1-spike) last judged truck a no-go. Do: check SMLib's licence and state, build it to WebAssembly, and run the K.1 tests (booleans, fillet, shell, STEP) against it; a go/no-go for the owner.

ModelCraftPartCraft Candidate 2 – Discord CSV pasted by the owner 2026-10-21
FeatureD7.49 Link to D7.49 Open STL / OBJ / 3MF meshes as solids in PartCraft

Asked: convert meshes to solids (#SolidCraft Oct 17). Checked 2026-10-21: PartCraft opens only .json and STEP; ModelCraft imports OBJ as faces and treats closed meshes as solids for booleans, but there is no mesh → body path. PartCraft's manifold kernel can take a closed mesh directly. Do: import STL/OBJ/3MF as a body (repair small gaps, report what can't close), usable in booleans and CAM; planar faces merged so sketches can sit on them.

ModelCraftPartCraft Candidate 1.5 – Discord CSV pasted by the owner 2026-10-21
FeatureD7.50 Link to D7.50 PartCraft: weldments (structural members along sketch lines)

Asked: weldments (#SolidCraft Oct 18). Checked 2026-10-21: deferred since 0.4 (0.4-PLAN). DetailCraft places profile members point to point with welds, but PartCraft has no members along a sketch. Do: a Structural member feature (DetailCraft's profile library along 2D/3D sketch lines), trim/extend at corners, end caps, gussets, a cut list with lengths and angles.

DetailCraftPartCraft Candidate 3 – Discord CSV pasted by the owner 2026-10-21
Sanity checkD7.51 Link to D7.51 PartCraft: stress test at 750 features

Asked: the Parameters window drops to a low frame rate at about 740 features (#SolidCraft Oct 18; reported about Tangency Labs' app). Checked 2026-10-21: we have no large-model test (only 30 rebuilds of small parts). Do: a generated 750-feature part in testfiles/generated/ (LARGE-FILES.md), time rebuild, Parameters window and feature tree scrolling; fix what's slow (virtualised lists, incremental rebuild).

PartCraft Planned 0.5 – Discord CSV pasted by the owner 2026-10-21
FeatureD7.62 Link to D7.62 More interface languages from volunteers (Vietnamese, Russian, Portuguese, Italian, Armenian)

Asked: an Armenian translation; a Vietnamese tester offered; Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian users in the channels (6 mentions, #technical-development Oct 18; #cadcraft Oct 17–21). Related WL.7, ES-MX, LG.4. Checked 2026-10-21: we ship English, Spanish (Mexico, draft) and Indonesian (draft) everywhere, Arabic in CadCraft and PartCraft. Do: a contributor translation kit (string export, a checker for missing keys, the draft label) and invite the Vietnamese volunteer first; each language ships as a draft until a native review (owner picks which).
