2D drafting & documentation In development

CadCraft

The drafting table you already know how to use.

CadCraft, the app, is the drafting table at the center of the family. It is built around the command line: type L for a line, C for a circle, TR to trim, and keep your eyes on the drawing. Layers, linetypes and lineweights work the way your office standard expects, blocks carry attributes, and layouts plot to scale. It opens and saves DWG and DXF, so the drawings you already have are the drawings you keep working on.

If you draft in AutoCAD, you already know CadCraft.

What's inside

  • Command line first

Every tool has a typed command and the aliases you use without thinking: L, C, TR, EX, O, M, CO. Enter repeats the last command; Esc cancels.

  • Real DWG round-trip

Open a DWG, edit it, save it and send it back without lost layers, broken blocks or exploded dimensions. DXF in and out as well.

  • Layers that behave

Color, linetype, lineweight, freeze, lock and plot settings per layer, with layer states you can save and restore per sheet.

  • Blocks and attributes

Define blocks with attributes, insert them with prompts, and pull the attribute data out into a table or a CSV.

  • Annotative scaling

Text, dimensions and hatches sized once in paper units and shown at the right size in every viewport scale.

  • Layouts that plot

Model space for the drawing, layouts with viewports for the sheet, and plot styles that turn layers into pen weights on PDF or paper.

Concept drawings

Drawn for this page to show what CadCraft is being built to do. They are concept drawings, not screenshots: there is no software to screenshot yet.
