Terms of use
These terms cover this website. The CadCraft apps will be released under their own open-source license, named in each repository, and that license, not this page, will govern the software.
These terms are written in good faith to describe how the site works today, but they have not yet been reviewed by the site owner or a lawyer. They may change before launch, and the date above will change with them.
What these terms cover
By using getcadcraft.com you agree to these terms. "We" and "CadCraft" mean the team that runs this site. If you do not agree, please do not use the forms on the site.
Nothing has shipped yet
The apps described on this site are in development or planned. Features, formats, platforms, plans and the order of the roadmap describe what we intend to build, not what exists today, and they can change. We do not give dates, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell you anything.
Early access
Joining early access is free and puts you on a mailing list. It does not create an account, a contract to supply software, or a guarantee of a build by any date. "Founding pricing" means we intend to offer early-access members better terms when commercial licenses go on sale; the details will be published then. You can leave the list at any time with the unsubscribe link in our emails.
Suggestions and messages
When you send us a suggestion, you let us use the idea freely, including building it into the open-source apps, without owing you payment or credit. Please do not send anything confidential or anything you do not have the right to share. Suggestions appear on the public list only after we review them; we may edit them for length or clarity, or decline to list them.
Support messages are private between you and us. We reply by email and handle them as described in the privacy notice.
Using the site fairly
- Do not use the forms to send spam, abuse, or anything unlawful.
- Do not try to break, overload or get around the security of the site. Forms are limited to a few posts every ten minutes.
- Do not sign other people up for early access without their permission.
We may remove content or block access that breaks these rules.
Names, logos and trademarks
The CadCraft name, the app names and the logo are ours. You may use them to refer to CadCraft accurately, for example in an article or a review; the press kit has the files and guidance. Please do not use them in a way that suggests we endorse you, or as part of your own product's name.
AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D are registered trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. SketchUp and Tekla are trademarks of Trimble Inc. Bluebeam is a trademark of Bluebeam, Inc. PlanSwift is a trademark of ConstructConnect. SolidWorks is a registered trademark of Dassault Systèmes. CadCraft is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
When the browser apps launch
- You own your drawings. Saving a drawing with us does not give us any ownership of it. We store and process your drawings only to provide the service to you: saving them, keeping their version history, and sharing them with the people you choose.
- Cloud saving comes with a commercial license. Saving drawings from the browser apps will require a commercial license, which includes cloud saving. Without one, you can still use a browser app and export a copy of your work to your own computer.
- The desktop apps are not affected. They keep your files on your own computer and need no account.
- When a commercial license ends, your saved drawings stay available for export for a grace period, to be set before launch. How we store and protect them is described in the privacy notice.
No promises beyond these
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it as it is, without guarantees. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the site or relying on a plan described here. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law says cannot be limited.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the project grows, and we will change the date at the top when we do. Questions about them: write to us through the support page.
