FeatureLC.1 Link to LC.1 Site concept

Covers Forma Site Design and InfraWorks. Masses on a real site from CivilCraft’s GIS and terrain; sun hours and shadows, facade daylight, zoning envelope, street view; masses handed to BimCraft. Spike first. Owner 2026-10-23: go. The site-concept spike (docs/spikes/LC.1_site-concept.md) ran the slice end to end; build in 0.7: masses on a parcel, zoning envelope, sun hours and shadows, street view, hand-over to BimCraft with its georeference. Facade daylight is not included. Session massing (W3.21).

FeatureLC.3 Link to LC.3 Registering scans

Covers ReCap. Several scans placed by targets or point pairs, refined by ICP with the error shown, saved as one project, exported as E57 or LAS. Suggestions 2026-10-22: Asked on /suggest (#857, Oct 20): a reality-capture tool for scans (with a mechanical CAD app the person knows better than the usual one: PartCraft, D7.61). Owner 2026-10-22: planned for 0.7 (suggestion #857, Inventor Pro and ReCap).

FeatureLC.9 Link to LC.9 3D MEP in BimCraft

The build after DF.26 if it is a go: ducts and pipes by size and system, fittings, equipment, IFC systems, clash with the structure. Discord CSV 2026-10-21: Asked again on Discord (3 mentions, #cadcraft Oct 21; #craft-apps Oct 19, 21): a Revit MEP alternative, an ArchiCAD-style MEP designer. Owner 2026-10-23: build in 0.7. DF.26 was a go and DF.29 built the first slice in 0.6; next slice: equipment with ports, runs connected to equipment, MEP-vs-structure clash sets, spools and spool sheets, add-on API 1.1. Session mep-07 (W3.16). Suggestions 2026-10-26: Asked again on /suggest (#1060, Oct 26): model buildings with piped services and HVAC ducting. Built in 0.7; see also MEP-REL.

FeatureLC.12 Link to LC.12 Digital twin for operations

Covers Tandem. The handed-over IFC as a facility model: asset data, spaces, systems, documents, sensor values from CSV or a feed, a maintenance list. Spike first. Owner 2026-10-23: build the rest of the cut line in 0.7: documents per asset, COBie spreadsheet, sensor values from CSV, live feeds from the browser; a hosted twin as a write-up. Session bim-ops (W3.17).

FeatureLC.14 Link to LC.14 Product configurators

Covers Configurator 360 and Informed Design. A PartCraft configuration published as a configurator page with 3D and DWG/STEP/IFC downloads; the same item parametric in BimCraft. Owner 2026-10-23: build the rest of the cut line in 0.7: variant pack, item variants in the library format, the configurator page, variant picking in BimCraft. Session configurator (W3.19).

FeatureLC.20 Link to LC.20 Energy and daylight analysis

Covers Insight. Loads, annual use and daylight factors from BimCraft’s spaces and constructions. Spike: EnergyPlus and Radiance as WebAssembly vs our own simplified engine. Owner 2026-10-23: build the rest of the cut line in 0.7: vertical sky component, solar gain, daylight factor on a grid, heating and cooling loads; EnergyPlus as WebAssembly a spike. Session bim-ops (W3.17).

FeatureDC.116 Link to DC.116 Auto-detect walls and rooms from a set of plans (PDF or scans)

Bring in a set of plans (PDF or scanned drawings) and have walls, doors and windows detected to build the model. DF.23 does this from the lines of a DWG/DXF; this asks for PDFs and pictures, related to LC.6 scanned drawings. Owner 2026-10-23: yes to the auto trace. Planned in session trace (W3.15): BimCraft Build › From a drawing… takes vector PDFs and scans (traced by LC.6's engine) into DF.23's walls and openings; MarkupCraft is not touched in 0.7.

FeatureBIM-MLWALL Link to BIM-MLWALL Walls that run through several levels

People on Discord can't find multi-level walls in BimCraft. Today a wall's top is either "Up to the level above" or a fixed height. A fixed height can be taller than one floor, but the upper levels' plans don't show the wall (each plan draws only its own level's walls, model-plan.js planCut skips other storeys), rooms up there don't close against it, and it doesn't follow level height changes. Build: (1) wall Top = any level above (Level 3, Roof…) + offset, in the wall panel and the Draw bar (CadCraft_Wall TopLevel already takes any level's GlobalId; wallHeight already measures to it); (2) every plan the wall passes through shows it cut, and rooms on those levels close against it; (3) doors and windows can be placed in the part of the wall on an upper level.

FeatureD7.25 Link to D7.25 Show 3D solids (ACIS) from other programs in CadCraft and ModelCraft ArtCraft’s

Asked: open 3D drawings/solids; “where is 3D” (5 mentions, #craft-apps Oct 17, 18, 20; #cadcraft Oct 17, 20). Related DC.1, M3D-DRIFT. Checked 2026-10-21: the handoff is there (the Open in ModelCraft button, OPENIN3D), and CadCraft's 3D tab draws its own solids. But 3DSOLID/REGION/BODY from AutoCAD are kept byte for byte and never drawn — the SAT/SAB inside is not read (acis.js), in CadCraft, ModelCraft and BimCraft. Do: a clean-room SAT/SAB reader for planar and simple curved faces, tessellated for display (edit stays read-only); counted honestly in the import report.

FeatureD7.26 Link to D7.26 STEP import without the exact kernel; STEP in ModelCraft and BimCraft

Asked: STEP (and NC1 steel) support (#cadcraft Oct 20); SolidWorks / Creo / CATIA parts with features (3 mentions, #SolidCraft Oct 18 — STEP named there as the practical bar). Checked 2026-10-21: NC1/DSTV is built (DetailCraft, nc1.js). PartCraft exports a faceted STEP on the mesh kernel, but STEP import (and exact STEP export) needs the OpenCascade kernel, which is off in shipped builds (LGPL) — so a user can't open a STEP today. No STEP in ModelCraft or BimCraft. Native SLDPRT/Creo/CATIA stay out (closed formats); the SolidWorks macro exchange (tools/partcraft-sw) still needs its first run in SolidWorks. Do: a clean-room AP203/214/242 reader for faceted and B-rep bodies (tessellated to the mesh kernel), in PartCraft, ModelCraft and BimCraft. See D7.45 for the kernel.

FeatureD7.62 Link to D7.62 More interface languages from volunteers (Vietnamese, Russian, Portuguese, Italian, Armenian)

Asked: an Armenian translation; a Vietnamese tester offered; Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian users in the channels (6 mentions, #technical-development Oct 18; #cadcraft Oct 17–21). Related WL.7, ES-MX, LG.4. Checked 2026-10-21: we ship English, Spanish (Mexico, draft) and Indonesian (draft) everywhere, Arabic in CadCraft and PartCraft. Do: a contributor translation kit (string export, a checker for missing keys, the draft label) and invite the Vietnamese volunteer first; each language ships as a draft until a native review (owner picks which). Suggestions 2026-10-22: Asked again on /suggest (#881, Oct 20): a full Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil) interface for every app and tool. A pt-BR draft exists in dev (2026-10-22); pt-PT does not. Owner 2026-10-22: Portuguese is planned as SU.881 (pt-BR kept complete + pt-PT). Owner 2026-10-25: built in 0.7. Studio's hub has 23 interface language files (incl. Vietnamese, Russian, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal) and Italian); Armenian is not among them.

FeatureSU.878 Link to SU.878 Structural design: load combinations by code and steel member checks

Asked: structural analysis and design in the suite, for students, teachers and engineers (#878, Oct 20); one place for the analysis suites engineers pay for (#754, Oct 16); steel structure analysis is too expensive (#859, Oct 20). Checked 2026-10-22: 0.6 LC.4 built linear 3D frame analysis in DetailCraft and BimCraft (load cases, combinations typed by hand, reactions, member forces, deflections, PDF/CSV report), and every panel says it is not a code check (owner, LC.4: codes later, one at a time, engineer-reviewed). Do (owner 2026-10-22: both US and EU): (a) load combinations generated from ASCE 7 (LRFD + ASD) and from EN 1990 (ULS + SLS, partial factors as recommended values with a National Annex table to edit); (b) steel member checks for both: AISC 360 and EN 1993-1-1 (tension, compression with flexural and lateral-torsional buckling, bending, shear, combined), the code chosen per project, utilisation per member, coloured in the view; (c) the report shows every clause used; (d) known-answer tests against textbook examples, and an engineer's review before it leaves /lab. Concrete design and slabs stay out of this item. Suggestions 2026-10-26: Asked again on /suggest (#1057 SPACE GASS, Oct 26; #931 Robot, Oct 22; #1056 ETABS, Oct 25: its concrete / slab side is SU.1056).

Sanity checkSU.751 Link to SU.751 BimCraft: rough-edges pass

Asked: BimCraft polished more than anything; there is no free alternative, and the current build needs polish to be useful (#751, Oct 16; no email left). Do: a day on /use BimCraft as a new user (open, draw a small house with BimCraft Draw, schedules, plan PDF, IFC out), every snag written down and fixed or filed; ask on Discord what feels rough (DISCORD-ASK). Session `bim-07` (wave 2).

FeatureSU.881 Link to SU.881 Portuguese in 0.7: Brazilian Portuguese kept complete, and Portugal Portuguese

Asked: a full Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil) interface for every app, tool, menu and workflow, for newcomers and professionals who work better in their own language (#881, Oct 20). Owner 2026-10-22: "do Portuguese". Checked 2026-10-22: pt-BR is a finished draft in all 16 scopes (docs/lang-sessions/pt-BR.md; gap fill for bimcraft and modelcraft the same day). There is no pt-PT, and a pt-PT file would fall back to pt then English, never to pt-BR, so it has to be a whole file. Do: (a) pt-PT by the docs/LANGUAGES.md routine — glossary tools/lang/glossary/pt-PT.md with a pt-BR column, as es-ES has es-MX (ficheiro, ecrã, guardar, eliminar, utilizador, pré-visualização; the AO90 spelling; Portuguese NP / EN drafting terms), every scope translated from the English with pt-BR as a reference, never a word swap; (b) pt-BR kept at 0 missing / 0 stale until 0.7 closes, after each session's What's new strings land; (c) both say "Draft translation, not yet reviewed by a native speaker" until a native reviewer reads them (owner item); (d) the language picker lists both by their own names.

FeatureSU.461 Link to SU.461 BimCraft as an Archicad / Vectorworks / Revit alternative: floor-plan-first workflow

Asked: an alternative to Archicad (#461, #567, #895, #896), to Vectorworks for architecture, landscape and interiors (#856, perpetual licence gone), to Revit (#884), and one BIM tool that starts from the 2D floor plan with the 3D made automatically (#879). Owner 2026-10-22: this belongs in 0.7. Checked 2026-10-22: BimCraft already draws walls, doors, roofs, rooms and schedules from a plan (BimCraft Draw), reads and writes IFC, opens Revit and Archicad bundles (DF.12b/c, partial) and has pipes and ducts (DF.29). It was filed under DC.1 (one app with plugin modes, SuperCadCraft), which is a different ask. Do: (a) one day working through a small house the way an Archicad user does (floor plan first, 3D follows, sections and elevations from the model, schedules, sheets) and a list of what is missing or clumsier, shared with SU.751; (b) the top gaps from that list built or filed with sizes; (c) a check of what Archicad and Vectorworks can exchange (IFC, DWG, their own bundle formats) and what we can honestly read of .pln (#567): the format is closed, so no promise until the licence gate has looked. Session `bim-07` (wave 2). The four Archicad suggestions (#461, #567, #895, #896) were merged into #461 on 2026-10-22, votes kept once per voter. Owner 2026-10-22: the family modeler is to work "just like Archicad" objects: see BIM-FAM-MORE and BIM-FAM-SOLID. Suggestions 2026-10-26: Asked again on /suggest (#981 Allplan, Oct 24; #930 and #1055 Archicad + Revit mix, #933 Vectorworks 2D). The extra asks are SU.1055 and SU.912.

FeatureUNITS Link to UNITS Units of measure in every app: many more units, each on or off in Settings, starred default

Owner, 2026-10-22: many more units in every app (CivilCraft will use them most), and a Settings section where each unit is turned on or off for the dropdown lists, with a star for the default. One shared table, lib/units/ (canonical, copied byte for byte into each app by a sync script, like lib/shapes), in place of the five separate lists in cadcraft, civilcraft, markupcraft, modelcraft and takeoffcraft units.js (bimcraft, detailcraft and partcraft have none). Exact factors; the international foot and the US survey foot stay two different units. - Length: nm, µm, mm, cm, dm, m, dam, hm, km; mil (thou), in, ft, ft-in, US survey ft, yd, rod, link, chain, furlong, mile, US survey mile, nautical mile, fathom; point and pica for sheets. - Area: mm², cm², m², are, hectare, km²; in², ft², yd², square (100 ft², roofing), rood, acre, sq mi. - Volume: mm³, cm³, mL, L, m³; in³, ft³, yd³ (CY), US gallon, imperial gallon, board foot, acre-foot. - Angle and slope: degrees, deg-min-sec, gons (grads), radians; percent, H:V, rise:run. Settings › General › Units (the shell's, so every app gets it): one list per kind; each unit has an on/off switch and a star. Every unit dropdown shows only the units turned on, and the starred one is the default for new drawings, measures and items. The settings never change a file: a drawing or project keeps its own unit (DWG $INSUNITS, a CivilCraft project's ft / m / US survey ft), and a unit the file uses shows in its dropdown even when turned off. Typed values take any unit's mark (3 ac, 2.5 mi, 400 nm, 12'6"). Build on bimcraft PR #4 (yisraelk, closes GH.3): its toolbar selector and model-units.js (six units, getDisplayUnits/setDisplayUnits, localStorage bimcraft.model.units) become BimCraft's use of the shared table and Settings list; keep the work and credit, carry the saved choice over. Words in en, es-MX and id. Tests: each conversion against its legal definition, parse ↔ format round trips, the copies byte-identical.

Asked: parametric grading (owner, 2026-10-22; proposer a, terrain modelling). CivilCraft already has TIN surfaces, grading, feature lines, corridors and mass haul. Do: a simpler front end on them (no second engine): pad, platform, swale, berm, slope to a target gradient, draggable spot levels and contours, existing and proposed surfaces apart, live cut/fill, slope colouring with limits, flow arrows and ponding.

BimCraft families 1
Sanity checkBIM-FAM-SOLID Link to BIM-FAM-SOLID BimCraft families: make them solid

Owner 2026-10-22: families go in 0.7, and 0.7 makes them solid. DC.114 (0.6) built families on IFC types: editor, formulas, Booleans, duplicate, save as IFC / .ccfamily.json (docs/apps/bimcraft-families.md; 118 + 42 checks). It has had no use by anyone but its builder yet. Do: (a) use it like a new user for a day: make a door, a window, a cabinet and a table family from nothing, place 50 of each, change sizes, undo and redo through all of it, save, close, reopen; every snag fixed or filed; (b) break it on purpose: huge or empty recipes, cyclic and wrong formulas, a family file from an untrusted source (limits, names, expressions), a family deleted while placed, two people editing the same family in Live; (c) round trip: IFC2X3 and IFC4 saved and reopened in BimCraft, and the families listed as plain types by another reader (cc-ifc, IfcOpenShell if it is on hand; the hand check with other BIM programs waits on the owner, DISCORD-ASK); (d) speed: a model with 2,000 placed family elements, a family with 100 solids, a size change that redraws everything; record the numbers with uptime; (e) keyboard, screen reader and phone use of the editor dialog; (f) es-MX and id strings complete; help topics families and family-editor re-read against what the app does. Known-answer tests for every fix. Owner 2026-10-22: the bar is "just like Archicad": if an Archicad user places, stretches and edits an object and it behaves as they expect (BIM-FAM-MORE has the detail), ours must too. In the day of use, (a) do it with the same small house as SU.461.

PlatformWS.6 Link to WS.6 Shell layout engine: one engine for both layouts, data from each app

Lift BimCraft's layout code into the shell (assets/js/app-workspace*.js): each app describes its ribbon (its ribbon menu style), toolbox, info box and views; the shell builds both layouts. BimCraft moves onto it with its tests unchanged. Phones keep the phone layout. Plan docs/0.7-PART9.md; log docs/0.7-sessions/workspace-layouts.md.

FeatureWS.17 Link to WS.17 Build your own layout: layout themes as add-ons, with a design guide

Owner 2026-10-24: a design doc that lets contributors build their own layout theme. Layouts become data (a .ccworkspace.json file of the shell's building blocks; the two built-ins use the same format), shared as add-ons of kind workspace, picked in Settings › Global › Layout, imported and exported, and checked by the same conformance test. The guide is docs/LAYOUTS.md in the public getcadcraft/addons repo, with a worked example, linked from the 0.7 release notes. Plan docs/0.7-PART9.md; log docs/0.7-sessions/workspace-layouts.md.

PlatformWS.18 Link to WS.18 Workspace engine follow-up: 11 gaps

The shared layout engine's gaps the seven app sessions found (ws-closing.md § The engine gaps): the registry's own reason for a hidden button, toolbox groups by their shown names, the toolbox redrawn when the app's groups change, a canvas sized between the blocks, the drawing area's bars and their menus over the toolbox column, the toolbar hiding with the bars, pressed tools lit in the ribbon / quick bar / view bar, a steady info-box height, a file that opens as views, the language checker's false alarm, and a busy guard on switching layouts. Each fix has a conformance check; app workarounds the fixes make redundant were removed where that was a small change. Plan docs/0.7-PART9.md; log docs/0.7-sessions/workspace-shell.md § Follow-up run.

FeatureWS.19 Link to WS.19 Toolbox layout: a navigator on the right (project browser, Properties under it)

The toolbox and info box layout puts the app's project browser on the right as its navigator (plans, sections, elevations, 3D views, schedules, sheets), with Properties and the right panel's own tabs under it. A view opens from it as in the classic layout. Asked on Discord (2026-10-24) by two members. Plan docs/0.7-PART9.md; log docs/0.7-sessions/workspace-layouts.md § Discord ask.

FeatureWS.20 Link to WS.20 Info box: the picked element's main fields
