The CadCraft API

Connect your own systems to your CadCraft account: move seats when people join or leave, keep a class roster in step, add library blocks from a script, and see your cloud projects.

Quick start

  1. Make a key on your account's Developers page. Keys come with a CadCraft license, and each key gets only the permissions you tick.
  2. Call the API at https://api.getcadcraft.com/v1 with the key in the Authorization header:
    curl https://api.getcadcraft.com/v1/account \
      -H "Authorization: Bearer $CADCRAFT_KEY"
  3. Try any endpoint in the console: pick a key, fill in the fields, and see the real request and answer.

Sandbox and live keys

Live keys (cck_live_…) work on your real account, so a seat you move really moves. Sandbox keys (cck_test_…) will work on a practice team of made-up people, where every call really runs but nothing real changes and no email goes out. The sandbox is opening soon; until then, try the API with a read-only live key.

A key can never do more than your account can do on this website. A team member who isn't an owner or admin can't move seats with a key either. Read the guides for scopes, errors, paging and limits. 15 endpoints are open today; the changelog says what's next.
