CadCraft 0.8.1
A fix release for 0.8: BimCraft ribbon tools that said "Not built" now work, Properties keep feet-and-inches, DWG classes read right, and CadCraft Studio switches language at run time.
CadCraft 0.8.1 is out: a fix release for 0.8. The eight apps in your browser are 0.8.1 now, and CadCraft Studio 0.8.1 is the desktop download for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. If you already run CadCraft Studio 0.8, you don't need to download anything: it receives 0.8.1 automatically through its auto-update feature (or use Settings › Updates › Check for updates). What changed
- BimCraft, Ribbon + Project browser layout: Insert › Import CAD, Insert › Image and Manage › Project Units said "Not built in BimCraft yet" although 0.8 has them. They work now, and so do Move, Align, Level, Phases and Materials. Image opens the Picture tool, so JPG backgrounds go in. Reported by BIMBro.
- CadCraft: Properties showed 150 instead of 12'-6" in feet-and-inches drawings. They keep their text again. The crosshair no longer sits behind pop-ups.
- DWG: the classes section was read as the wrong type, fixed in CadCraft, BimCraft, CivilCraft, ModelCraft and TakeoffCraft.
- PartCraft: full-screen cursor freeze. The hover-pick is throttled now. This is our best reading of the cause; we have not confirmed it with the reporter.
- CadCraft Studio and the packed editions can switch language at run time. Before, they were English only.
- Tablets in portrait: spare height goes to the canvas, in all six apps that have a sheets mode.
- STRETCH (crossing window) and LIMITS already worked in the 0.8 web build. The Studio 0.8.0 installer was older; Studio 0.8.1 carries both, and the auto-update delivers it.
Said plainly
- Material Takeoff in BimCraft's Ribbon layout still says "Not built". BimCraft has no material-quantity list yet, and 54 other greyed ribbon tools have no BimCraft tool behind them.
- Language switching is not yet tested on every desktop platform. Tell us if the language does not change.
- The Windows installers and the macOS .dmg are not signed yet. Windows SmartScreen shows More info › Run anyway; on a Mac, right-click › Open.
- The iPad and iPhone build was not rebuilt for 0.8.1.
