CadCraft 0.3
All eight apps are in your browser as 0.3: 3D in CadCraft, BimCraft, CivilCraft and TakeoffCraft, movable panels everywhere, our own DWG engine, PartCraft simulation and scripting, and an honest list of what is not good yet.
All eight apps are now in your browser as 0.3. Open your own files: nothing is uploaded, and nothing is installed. Try the apps.
Across the lineup
- Movable panels in every app. Dock side panels left, right or at the bottom, float them, or move them to their own window on a second monitor.
- A view cube in every app with a 3D view, with a setting to show a view cube, an axis icon or nothing.
- Our own DWG engine. BimCraft, CadCraft and ModelCraft now read DWG with cc-dwg, an open-source reader we wrote from the public ODA specification. It opened all 120 of our test drawings with no errors, and it read 143 real test drawings in 21 seconds where the library it replaces took 103.
App by app
- CadCraft: a 3D tab with extrude, press/pull, box, cylinder and wedge. Solids are saved inside your DWG and DXF and export as GLB, OBJ or STL. What's new
- BimCraft: DWG and DXF drawings in 3D, a section plane for IFC models, and project files cut off mid-copy that open as far as they go. What's new
- ModelCraft: dimensions that resize the model. Type a new length and the geometry follows. What's new
- MarkupCraft: put the sheet list and markup panels anywhere, including a second screen. What's new
- TakeoffCraft: a 3D check view that stands your takeoff up on the sheet, so a missing wall shows at a glance. What's new
- CivilCraft: a 3D site view, plus GIS: 5,287 coordinate systems, shapefile, GeoJSON and GeoPackage in and out, terrain from elevation grids and LiDAR, and map layers under the plan. What's new
- DetailCraft: a view cube and movable panels. What's new
- PartCraft: accurate tetrahedral simulation with automatic refinement, heat, buckling and laminar flow, body tools, Gordon surfaces, and a preview of scripting. What's new
What isn't good yet
We list our gaps on purpose. PartCraft's turbulence model is experimental, and it failed its accuracy checks. Pipe friction comes out 28 to 46 percent too high, and flow behind a step reattaches 28 to 54 percent too soon. It ships with a warning that stays on screen. Use it for patterns, not numbers, while we rework the wall treatment.
Every app's help has a Not built yet page, and those lists set what we build next. Desktop builds and cloud saving are not available yet.
