Nothing is deleted when a bar or a panel goes away: the app only hides or moves it. Each of these ways is on purpose, and each has a way back.
The quickest fix: reset the layout
- Open Settings with the gear button in the app bar, or press ⌘,Ctrl+,.
- Choose the General tab.
- Under Layout, choose Reset the layout.
The toolbar goes back to its first order and buttons, the panels go back to their sides, the screen mode goes back to the normal view and the menu style goes back to the one the app starts with. Your theme, language, sizes and the app's own settings stay as they are, and so do any menu styles you made yourself (choose them again under Menus, keys and mouse).
The bars are hidden (full screen)
The screen-mode button in the app bar, and ⌃⇧FCtrl+Shift+F, go from the normal view to full screen, then to full screen with the bars hidden, then back.
While the bars are hidden, a small Show bars tab stays at the top middle of the window. Choose it, or point at the top edge of the window, and the bars slide down; they hide again a moment after you move away. Press ⌃⇧FCtrl+Shift+F to leave this mode, or EscEsc to leave full screen.
If the app opens with its bars hidden every time, look at Settings › General › Screen: the app does what is chosen there when it opens.
Touch
Tap the Show bars tab, or tap the top edge of the screen.
The toolbar looks different
- Tools in another order, or tools you can't find: someone arranged the toolbar. Choose Original order under Settings › General › Toolbar.
- Only icons, or only words: Toolbar buttons in the same place picks icons and labels, icons only or labels only. Hold the pointer over an icon to see its name.
- Tools won't move: the toolbar is locked. Right-click the toolbar (or press and hold it) and choose Unlock the toolbar, or clear Lock the toolbar under Settings › General › Toolbar.
- A ribbon that shows only its tab names: it is collapsed. Choose a tab name to open its tools for one command, or double-click a tab name (or choose the pin at the end of the tab row) to keep the ribbon open.
- Menus or a ribbon instead of the toolbar: a menu style is on. Pick the app's own style under Settings › the app's tab › Menus, keys and mouse. Every command is in every style; ⌘KCtrl+K finds any of them by name.
The toolbar's own menu
Right-click the toolbar, or press and hold it on a touch screen, for a short menu:
- Arrange the toolbar: drag tools within their group and groups by their name, or move the focused one with the arrow keys. Choose Done arranging in the same menu, or press EscEsc, when it looks right.
- Lock the toolbar / Unlock the toolbar: a locked toolbar can't be arranged or reset by accident.
- Reset the toolbar: tools back in their first order.
- With a ribbon menu style: Collapse the ribbon or Pin the ribbon open.
On a keyboard, the menu key (or ⇧ F10Shift+F10) opens it for the tool that has the focus.
Everything is too big or too small
Settings › General › Interface size makes the bars, toolbars, panels and dialogs of this app bigger or smaller, from 80 % to 140 %. The drawing keeps its own zoom, so a smaller interface leaves more room for it, for example with two apps side by side on one monitor. Panel text size beside it changes only the text in the side panels, on top of the interface size. Each app keeps its own size; CadCraft Studio's own window has one in its Settings too.
The panels are gone
Panels can float over the drawing, dock on another side, or move to a window of their own (often on a second monitor, or behind this window).
- Look for a second window called after the app with "panels", and choose Put the panels back in it.
- Or choose Reset layout under Settings › General › Panels, which brings every panel home.
On a phone
On a phone the panels are sheets: open one from the bar at the bottom of the screen. The Tools button in that bar hides and shows the toolbar, and Move puts it at the top or the bottom of the screen.
Still missing?
Find any tool by name with ⌘KCtrl+K, even while its bar is hidden. If something is still not where it should be after resetting the layout, tell us on the support page with the app's name and what you were doing.
