Take off one job together, live
What changes in TakeoffCraft while you are in a CadCraft Studio live session: everyone's items and marks in one takeoff, the same totals for all, your own undo, and joining from a browser on the same network.
Written for TakeoffCraft 0.5. The same help is inside the app: press F1.
What you will learn
What happens to a takeoff while several people measure the same job at the same time. CadCraft Studio starts and joins the session (Share live, Join); this page is about the takeoff itself.
Everyone measures at once
The host's PDFs come to everyone who joins. Add items, measure runs, areas and counts, set scales and prices as usual. Your own marks show at once; other people's appear a moment after they make them.
- Totals are the same for everyone: each window works the quantities and the estimate out from the marks, so nobody's totals can drift.
- Two people change one item or mark: different things are both kept; the same thing goes to the later change.
- A mark on an item someone just deleted is taken back, and the status bar says why.
- Each person's new items and marks get numbers of their own, so two people never make the same one.
Undo undoes your own work
⌘ZCtrl+Z undoes your own last change and leaves everyone else's alone. When someone changed the same thing since, nothing is undone and the status bar says who.
Join from a browser
A teammate without Studio can scan the picture under the host's code with a phone, tablet or computer on the same network. TakeoffCraft opens in the browser and fills with the host's takeoff and its PDFs once the host lets you in. Invite links, for joining from another network, are not open yet.
When the session ends
Only the host saves the takeoff. Everyone else keeps an unsaved copy: save it if you want to keep it.
