Tutorials Basics Getting started

Using this help

Open the help, search it, and see the steps for your computer.

Every app carries its own help. It is part of the app, so it opens with no connection and always describes the version you are running.

Open the help

  • Press F1F1, or choose Help in the bar at the top of the app.
  • Press EscEsc or choose Close to put it away. Your drawing stays as it was.

Mac

On most Mac keyboards the top row controls brightness and sound. Press F1F1 together with the fn key (or the globe key), or use the Help button. See Keys on a Mac.

Find a topic

  • Type in the search box at the top of the help. Results update as you type and include other programs' command names, so typing what you would have typed elsewhere usually finds the right page.
  • Topics are grouped the same way in every app: getting started, walkthroughs, coming from other software, reference, and troubleshooting.
  • Links inside a topic open the next topic in the same panel. Back returns to where you were.

Steps for your computer

Some steps differ between Mac, Windows and Linux, between browsers, and between being online and offline. The help works out which applies to you and shows those steps. The line at the top of a topic says what it chose, for example "Showing steps for Mac, Chrome or Edge, online".

  • Choose Change on that line to pick another computer or browser, for example to help a colleague.
  • Choose Show all to see every version of every step, each labeled.

Keyboard shortcuts are written the way your keyboard labels them: ⌘SCtrl+S reads as ⌘S on a Mac and Ctrl+S on Windows and Linux.

The same help on the website

The website shows the same topics at getcadcraft.com/tutorials, with every platform's steps. In the app, Open on the website at the bottom of a topic opens that page when you are online.
