Tutorials MarkupCraft help Walkthroughs
Save a flattened copy
Draw your markups into the pages of a separate copy, so nobody can move or change them.
Written for MarkupCraft 0.4. The same help is inside the app: press F1.
A flattened copy carries the markups as part of the drawing, not as comments. Every viewer and printer shows them exactly, and nobody can move, edit or delete them. Use it for a final issue; keep the normal marked-up copy for review.
Save a flattened copy
- Open a sheet of the file you want to flatten.
- Choose Pages, then Save a flattened copy….
- Choose Every markup in this file, or, with markups selected, only those. The others stay comments in the copy.
- Choose Save the copy.
Result: your browser downloads "<name> (flattened).pdf". The markups in MarkupCraft stay editable, and your original PDF is unchanged.
Good to know
- Replies, statuses and punch items of a flattened markup are not kept in the copy: it is a picture of the markup now.
- Comments that came with the file from other programs stay comments.
- Printing flattens a copy for you each time. See Print, and change the pages.
