Stamps and sticky notes
Stamp a sheet Approved, Revise and resubmit or your own wording, and leave sticky notes that open as pop-up comments.
Written for MarkupCraft 0.3. The same help is inside the app: press F1.
Stamp a sheet
- Choose Stamp (SS).
- In Properties on the right, pick the stamp under Stamp:
- Approved
- Approved as noted
- Revise and resubmit
- Rejected
- Reviewed
- Void
- Custom text… (type up to 60 characters in the box that appears, then press ReturnEnter or click elsewhere)
- Click on the sheet where the stamp goes. Or drag a box to choose its size.
Result: a framed stamp in capitals with a second line "By <your name>, <date>". A clicked stamp is sized for the screen at your zoom, kept between half an inch and an inch and a quarter tall on the printed sheet.
The stamp you picked stays chosen for the next one, also after you reopen MarkupCraft in this browser.
Colors follow the meaning: the Approved stamps are green, Revise and resubmit orange, Rejected and Void red, Reviewed blue, and custom stamps purple. If you choose another color in Properties, that color is kept.
Change a stamp later
Select it and pick another stamp in Properties. If it still had its automatic color, the color changes with the meaning.
The name and date on the stamp are the stamp's author and the day it was made. They do not change when you edit it, and a stamp's author cannot be changed. To stamp in someone else's name, they set their name and stamp it themselves.
Stamps you use often
The tool chest comes with an "Approved as noted" stamp tool, and you can save any stamp (its wording and color) as a tool of its own. See The tool chest.
Image stamps, signature stamps and stamps with filled-in fields (date received, project number) are not built yet.
Sticky notes
- Choose Note (NN).
- Click where the note goes. A small note icon appears with a box beside it.
- Type the note. Click outside or press ⌘ ReturnCtrl+Enter to keep it; EscEsc throws it away.
Unlike text and callouts, a note is kept even if you type nothing, so you can place the icon now and write later.
- The note's words are its Note field in Properties. Double-click the icon (or select it and press ReturnEnter) to edit them on the sheet.
- On the sheet you see only the icon. Other PDF viewers show a standard sticky note that opens to the text when clicked.
- Change the icon's color with Color in Properties.
