Review one plan set together, live

What changes in MarkupCraft while you are in a CadCraft Studio live session: everyone's markups, replies and statuses on the same set, your own undo, and joining from a browser on the same network.

Written for MarkupCraft 0.5. The same help is inside the app: press F1.

What you will learn

What happens to markups while several people review one plan set at the same time. CadCraft Studio starts and joins the session (Share live, Join); this page is about the set itself.

Everyone marks up at once

The host's PDFs come to everyone who joins, so all of you look at the same sheets. Draw, move, restyle and delete markups as usual. Your own changes show at once; other people's appear a moment after they make them.

  • Two people change one markup: different things (one the colour, the other the line weight) are both kept. The same thing goes to the later change.
  • Replies: everyone's replies stay on the thread, in the order they were written. Statuses travel the same way.
  • Scales and sheet names set by anyone apply for everyone.
  • Punch numbers never repeat: if two people add a punch item at the same moment, one of them is taken back and can add it again.

What stays yours alone: layers you hide or lock, custom columns, the view, your tool and your name as the author.

When a change is taken back

The host's copy checks every change. One that can't go in is taken back on your screen, and the status bar says why, for example when someone deleted that markup just before you.

Undo undoes your own work

⌘ZCtrl+Z undoes your own last change and leaves everyone else's alone. When someone changed the same thing since, nothing is undone and the status bar says who.

Join from a browser

A teammate without Studio can scan the picture under the host's code with a phone, tablet or computer on the same network. MarkupCraft opens in the browser and fills with the host's plan set once the host lets you in. Invite links, for joining from another network, are not open yet.

When the session ends

Only the host saves the marked-up PDFs. Everyone else keeps an unsaved copy: save it if you want to keep it.
